ARCHERS OF THE 100 YEARS WAR
In the year of our lord 1346 we set sail from Southampton with the King (Edward III) for France to reclaim his land.
We portray the archers that went with him.
We are a group of archers that set up camp and try and make it look as authentic as possible to give the public the chance to see what it was like on the road.
We cook our own food in the camp over an open fire.
We have weapons racks to demonstrate the weapons used in war.
We also have bows and arrows of all shapes and sizes to show how different the bows and arrows were in that age.
We attend medieval events throughout the year to set up an archer’s camp and talk to the public.
We also do archery displays to show the power of the longbow.
Our youngest archer is aged 7 and our oldest is 60.
We practice our skills with the bows.
We are based at cosmeston medieval village in the lovely vale of Glamorgan under the control of our lord Despenser.
